SPECIAL EVENTS

05/17  Booze & Bites Mingle!  Join us on Friday, May 17th, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and bring your own drinks; you may bring alcoholic beverages. Typically, Booze & Bites Mingle takes place on the 3rd Friday of every month. No sign-up required. Come join the fun and meet some new neighbors!

05/18  Paint-A-Pot! Pottery painting for the whole family at the Town Center. Join us on Saturday, May 18th from 10am-12pm. All ages are welcome. All pieces are either $5 or $10; please bring cash only. There will be cups, plates, figurines and more to choose from.

05/22 Mah Jongg! Wednesday, May 22nd is Open Mah Jongg from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, downstairs in the Town Center. Please bring your NEW 2019 National Mah Jongg League Card. You may bring your Mah Jongg set, tablecloth, drinks and snacks with you. All levels of experience welcome, but there will be no lessons. Just come out and play for fun!

05/24 Singles Mingle! The singles of RiverWalk are invited to meet for dinner at the Centanni Café in RiverWalk on Friday, May 24th, at 6:30 pm. Also, come and help us plan trips and outings for a fun and exciting year. For more information, contact LeAnna Collier at 561-684-6563.

05/31 Trivia Night! Sign-up starts on Monday, May 6th. Join us in the Town Center on Friday, May 31st. The game will begin at 7:00 pm. The cost is $5 cash per person, payable at the door. You may bring your own snacks and beverages (alcohol permitted). Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams! There will also be raffle drawings throughout the night. You may sign up as an individual, a couple or as a group. You must be on the list to attend; please no walk-ins at the time of the event.

06/07  Bingo Bash Waiting List Only!!!  Bingo will be held on Friday, June 7th in the Town Center from 6:45pm – 9:00pm  Please call the RiverWalk office if you have signed up and are unable to attend.

06/22  AARP Smart Driver Class!  The class will be held downstairs at the Town Center on Saturday, June 22nd, from 8:45am – 3:30pm.  Seniors 55+ who successfully complete the course will be provided a certificate for their auto insurance agency.  You must pre-register by Wednesday, June 19th.  Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.  Registration forms are available in the RiverWalk office.  Please bring with you a check made payable to AARP, your driver’s license, and your AARP card if you have one.

CLUBS & CLASSES

Aqua Aerobics (Morning and Evening): No class on Mother’s Day!  All classes are held at the Resort Pool, weather permitting. Morning classes are held Monday at 10:00am, and Tuesday through Friday and Sunday at 11:00am. Evening classes are held Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm.  Bring pool buoys (aqua barbells), and sturdy pool noodles, swim belts, aqua shoes if you have them, and drinking water. This class uses Remind for last-minute cancellations and other updates. See Remind information below for the new class code. Otherwise, please look for updates in the RiverWalk website, HOA email announcements, Channel 63, and the bulletin boards in the RiverWalk Office and Post Office. A waiver must be signed before joining the class.

Art Studio: Suspended until further notice. Open Art Studio meets each Friday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm upstairs in the Town Center for for artists to work and discuss their art, including painting, drawing, adult coloring and more. Please bring your own supplies. Contact Anita Quinn at 561-842-3522.

Bocce (Men’s): Contact Al Formichella at 561-697-9807 to play bocce or join Team RiverWalk.  Come check out the new awnings!

Bocce (Women’s): Alll women are welcome to play. Experience or knowledge of game rules is not required. It’s a fun and easy “learn as you play” game. If you are interested, just show up at the bocce court on Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. The games last about an hour-and-a-half, and a great way to start your weekend.  Contact Sadie Reinecker at 561-616-8815.  Come check out the new awnings!

Book and Film Club: Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month beginning at 1:00 pm downstairs at the Town Center.  During our May 9th meeting we will discuss the book Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, and during our June 13th meeting we will discuss the book The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking. Bowling League:  Meets every Tuesday at 9:30 am, all year round, at Verdes Tropicana Lanes on Florida Mango Road off Belvedere Road (near PBI Airport). The cost is $14 per week. Contact Walter Carney at 561-644-1005. Everyone is welcome!

Bunco: A dice game that is easy to learn and lots of fun! Both games are held downstairs at the Town Center the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, and the 4th Friday of each month from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Contact: LeAnna Collier at 561-684-6563 to join either game.

COP (Citizens Observer Patrol): Meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm downstairs at the Town Center (except July and September). New volunteers ALWAYS needed and welcomed. Contact Buz Wyman at 401-316-9924 or Peter Lundquist at 561-684-6617.

Crafters and Knitters: Are you feeling creative? Join them Tuesdays at 10:00 am downstairs at the Town Center. Contact Dolores Castilonia at 561-478-8293.

Duplicate Bridge: Meets at 6:30pm promptly each Thursday evening downstairs at the Town Center. All players are welcome. Cost: $1. If you need more information or if you need a partner, contact Ginger Taylor at 561-242-0041.

Golf (Ladies): Ladies who are interested in social golf Thursday mornings, please call Annette Caccamise at 561-683-0829 for more information.

Golf (Men’s League): Golfers play every Wednesday at 7:45 am at Okeeheelee Golf Course. Teams and handicaps are assigned. After golf, most members stay for lunch and enjoy the Nineteenth Hole. If you are interested or would like more information, contact Andy Braica at 561-478-9480.

Italian/Americans and Friends Club (IAFC): The final event of the season, the Bagel Bash, will be held on Saturday, May 4th, beginning at 10:00 am, at $9 per person for members and $12 per person for non-members. Membership forms will be distributed at the Bagel Bash. Renewal fee is $35 per person. Save the Date: The first meeting of the 2019-2020 season will be on Tuesday, September 10th. Call Al Formichella at 561-697-9807 for information on joining the Club to attend IAFC functions.

Italian Class: Classes are suspended until the fall!  All levels are welcome. Classes are held every Friday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (noon) downstairs in the Town Center. Benvenuto!

Karate: Meets Wednesdays from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, upstairs at the Town Center. A waiver must be signed before joining the class. Contact: Joel Cohen at 561-712-0554.

Line Dancing: Suspended until further notice.  Are you looking for something fun to do? Are you tired of the treadmill? Then this is the class for you. Have fun while exercising your body and brain. We dance to country, oldies, and contemporary music. No partner is needed. The dances are taught before the music is played and steps are called out during the dance. Classes are held on Wednesdays at 10:00 am upstairs at the Town Center. Sunday line dance classes have been postponed until further notice.  A waiver must be signed before joining the class. $5/class.

Mah Jongg (Open): The 2nd and 4th Wednesday in May and June will be Open Mah Jongg from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm, downstairs in the Town Center. Please bring your NEW 2019 National Mah Jongg League Card. You may bring your Mah Jongg set, tablecloth, drinks and snacks with you. All levels of experience welcome, but there will be no lessons. Just come out and play for fun! Pilates: Pilates classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 am, and every Saturday at 10:15 am upstairs at the Town Center. This class uses Remind for last-minute cancellations and other updates. See Remind information below. A waiver must be signed before joining the class. $5/class.

Ping Pong: Meets upstairs in the Town Center Monday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (upstairs). Bring your own paddle. If you are interested in attending, please contact Richard Zuccaro at 561-683-2516.

Social/Activities Committee: The Social/Activities Committee meets on the first Monday of every month at 3:30 pm in the Conference Room to plan social functions, excursions and fun events. Please contact the HOA Office at 561-697-7712 if you have suggestions that you would like us to consider.  We are fully staffed at the moment but we welcome all ideas from the community.

Spanish Class: Suspended until the fall!  Thursday’s at 10:00am, downstairs in the Town Center.  Class are FREE and all levels are welcome

Tennis: Tennis Mixed Doubles are at the Village Tennis Center every Wednesday at 6:30pm, and every Sunday at 8:30 am-10:00 am. It is free, and all levels can register today. Also, there is a Hitting Frenzy at the Village Tennis Center every Saturday at 10:00 am. All levels are welcome. The cost for the Hitting Frenzy is $15/$12 with a series. Walking Group: Join other residents for a walk around RiverWalk. The group meets 5 days a week at 6:20 pm near the stop sign by the Tennis Courts. Everyone is welcome. If you need more information, contact Donna at 561-801-2583.

Yoga: Multi-level yoga classes are held upstairs at the Town Center Tuesday evenings at 6:45 pm for a gentle/candlelight class, and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am for a more active class. Chair yoga is held upstairs on Thursdays at 10:45 am. These classes use Remind for last-minute cancellations and other updates. See Remind information below. A waiver must be signed before attending any yoga class. $5/class.
